Track 3: It's Been Too Long.
This song was originally written for my Grandad who passed away around 10 years ago. I didn't intend on putting it on the album, but when my Nana also passed away not long ago, I knew it had to make the cut. The original version wasn't completely finished, it had a random instrumental bridge that didn't seem to go anywhere. So in this version, I fleshed that part out with some more vocals and also put an additional guitar solo into it. I still wanted to keep the vibe of the original version, so I tried really hard to capture the same emotion, but add a more polished edge to it.

It was interesting listening to the original version when I was remaking this song. I remember recording each part of the drums separately (first kick, then snare, then hi-hats / cymbals etc) in my studio, as it was too hard to record myself playing (with the full drum kit being in a separate room) haha. There are actually some parts in the original version that would be impossible for a drummer to play because of this.

R.I.P Nana and Grandad. This one's for you!
